An US NAVY F/A-18 Hornet aircraft belongs to Blue Angels aerobatic team skidded off the runway while landing at the former Brunswick Naval Air Station, this morning about 7:30a.m.

The pilot Capt. Jeff Kuss who is a Blue Angels Narrator and the other occupant Capt. Corrie Mays who is Event Coordinator assigned to the team, were unharmed, as the aircraft too. Both Blue Angels members arrived at Brunswick Naval Air Station to promote the 2015 Great State of Maine Air Show. The Labor Day event will feature the Blue Angels flight demonstration squadron in September 2015.

The number 7 Blue Angels' Hornet stopped in the grass at the end of the runway. The reason for this incident was the icy runway, forcing the pilot to slide the aircraft couple of times before the runway ends.

Later a C-130 with technicians onboard arrived at the site to check the aircraft condition.
