Captain Badenhorst, who is only the 2nd woman to fly for the Silver Falcons, validated with Silver Falcon team 80 yesterday afternoon. Falcon #83 and former Silver Falcons leader Major Alex Van Oostveen officially welcome Captain Wendy Badenhorst to the team as the new Falcon 4.
The first Silver Falcons aerobatic team first female pilot was Captain Heybrech van Niekerk who joined the team in 2010 and start flying as a demonstration pilot in 2011 with Team 71. She flew 44 airshows as a Falcon 2 (#2 position within the team) in 2011 and 2012 season.
In 2013 she flew 31 air displays as a Falcon 4, the last season of Captain Heybrech as a demo pilot.
