It seems that the Ukrainian Falcons will be reform again, but this time flying L-39 Albatross jet trainer airplanes.
The planes are colored in almost the same as the last Ukrainian Falcons paint scheme in light blue and yellow. With a decision of the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych from February 12, the Ukrainian Falcons must been restored. First, the team will have to been ready to fly-over L-39 aircraft at Ukraine Independence Day parade on August 24, 2011. After the MiG-29 upgrade program, the Ukrainian Falcons must been transferred to the MiG-29s.
Five restored L-39s in colors of Ukrainian Falcons are now pre-flying at Nikolaevkoe Tactical Aviation Brigade from Ukrainian Air Force pilots, as the aircraft are overhauled at the State Enterprise Chuguev aircraft repair plant.
We must hope, that this good will, of reformation of the famous Ukraine display team will became truth. Note that in April 2008, the former Ukrainian President Victor Yushchenko suggested to reform the team again, but only in words. Now there is a real preparation, but until we see the real flying aerobatic team, we will not believed in Ukrainian Falcons reestablishment.
