One of the Warbird Trojan Horsemen Demonstration Team planes crashed at the Thunder over the Blue Ridge Open House and Air Show in Martinsburg, West Virginia. T-28 aircraft went out of control about 2:40 p.m. during a two planes stunt maneuver called "belly-to-belly", where the airplanes cross each other trajectory in different directions. Then one of the planes did not recover from the roll and went straight to the ground crashing on a runway near airport's hangers. The pilot Jack "Flash" Mangan - Alternate Wing, was killed at the scene. There were no casualties on the ground.
The crash occurred a day after the horrible incident at Reno Air Races in Nevada, where another WW2 aircraft, a P-51 Mustang crashed killing the pilot and lot of spectators.
The Warbird Aerobatic Formation Demonstration Team "Trojan Horsemen" is based in Cincinnati, Ohio and fly six piston engine T-28 aircraft.
