The “Golden Sabres” was a display team of Philippine Air Force first formed in 1972.
Their first demonstration occurred on April 9, at Iba, Zambales. The team flew F-86F Sabre fighters equipped with smoke generators. In 1974, together with the “Red Aces” they became simply the “Sabres” display team.
The “Sabres” team lasted just a few years, until a petrol crisis forced its disbandment.
