Wings of Storm Krila Oluje

Croatia

The Croatian Air Force aerobatic display team performed its first display with four Pilatus PC-9 planes on 22 July 2004 at the opening ceremony of European sailing championships in Zadar.

A year later, on Aug 5, 2005, during the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Croatian military and police operation known as Storm (Oluja), the team was given the name "Wings of Storm" (Krila Oluja) after its impressive performance. The team then became an official unit of Croatian Air Force. At the end of that year, another aircraft was added producing a five-ship aerobatic team.

The "Wings of Storm" home base is at Zemunik airbase and the team is co-located with the Croatian Air Force Flight School. All the team pilots are instructors from this school, as are the team's ground crew.

In 2009, "Wings of Storm" expanded yet again, after they received a sixth aircraft.

In 2015 most of the team pilots resigned Croatian Air Force and move to Qatar to form another aerobatic team. Fortunately, the new pilots enter the Wings of Storm and so the team was ready for 2016 air show season. The new sequence added also.
