Russian Air Force demonstration squadrons Russian Knights and Swifts will leave its present home base Kubinka and relocated to Lipetsk Air Base. Most of the Kubinka Air Base area was sold to a Russian billionaire Suleiman Kerimov in 2010 and will became an international airport.

The Lipetsk Air Base is also the home base of another aerobatic team Russian Falcons.

For now the future of Russian Knights and Swifts aerobatic teams stays unclear, as earlier this year Ministry of Defense announced that both team will be disbanded and a week later they denied this information.

The Russians finally must decide to form one aerobatic team, which to train regularly and perform at least 50 times in Russia and abroad, as many foreign teams do.
