The Rough Diamonds

United Kingdom
Rough Diamonds Hawker Hunter GA.11

The Rough Diamonds was the Royal NAVY (Fleet Air Arm) aerobatic display team formed in the summer of 1965.

The team flew four Hawker Hunter GA.11 aircraft from No. 738 Squadron based in Brawdy Air Base and a spare plane was also attached to the team.

All airplanes of the Rough Diamonds display team wore the standard NAVY color paint scheme in dark sea gray and white colors, except of the leader Lt. Cdr Christopher Comins' plane, which had dayglo-red painted nose, spin and wingtips.

The team received the name from the shape of the Hunter.

The Rough Diamonds display team was disbanded in 1969.
